Heyo
I just wanted to give you a quick rundown on my shirts!! But before I get into that I also wanted to mention that I love stickers, I have a bag of them that I refuse to use because I love them so much.. so I also made some STWJ stickers… They are just regular ole stickers. Let’s get on to the shirts.
I am obsessed with tshirts.. I ‘Marie Kondo’ my clothes every weekend to try to get my shirt draw a little easier to open and close but damn… I can’t resist a tee.
I have created these shirts, some branded Sex Talk and some with very important political statements, like “Squirt Legend”. I first started designing these as a bit of fun and then as I was showing friends, I realised that people actually liked them and wanted to buy them. So here we are. Even though they are like silly or funny or whatever, I very early on decided that I was going to donate a portion of the profits. All apparel will have 50% of profits donated.
‘Peggy’ tee – NOTE: This image was drawn for me by my fabulous friend and I want to pay him for his gloriousness, therefore this shirt will have 50% donated and 30% paid to the artist.
How is it going to work?
After much deliberation I have decided that the easiest and fairest way to divvy up the money is to divide the donation amount by three and send it off to each organisation. This will be done at the end of every month. All donations will be sent via PayPal. Paperwork and receipts will be kept of all transactions for complete transparency. If you have any questions or would like to see proof of donation, please contact me.
Where is it going?
There are an endless amount of organisations I’d love to be able to support but for now I have chosen these three. NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with these organisations, I haven’t even contacted them to let them know, do I need to do that?
Black Rainbow - “Black Rainbow is a national advocacy platform and touchpoint for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBQTI) peoples. We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI people through a variety of community projects and initiatives that we have, and continue, to develop. We call these initiatives Contagion of Love projects. We are a non-profit social enterprise that is 100% Indigenous owned and operated. Black Rainbow is premised by advocacy, leadership, and solutions which identify and address social and cultural determinants of wellbeing as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians whom identify as LGBQTI.”
Brisbane Rape and Incest Survivors Support Centre - “BRISSC (Brisbane Rape and Incest Survivors Support Centre) was established in 1973 and is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation in Brisbane that provides support to women (15+) survivors of sexual violence. Our services include phone support, individual counselling, advocacy, community education and training. BRISSC is a feminist service, operating on a collective basis. We value women’s experiences, truths, lives and skills and provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment for women who have experienced rape and incest. BRISSC believe that women are the experts of their own lives and thus it is up to them to define their needs. We seek to give women as much control over their decisions and lives as possible.”
National Justice Project - “The National Justice Project is a not-for-profit legal service. We apply our expertise to advancing human rights by representing and giving voice to the vulnerable who would otherwise be unable to find legal representation. NJP was established by Adjunct Professor George Newhouse and Lt Col (ret) Dan Mori. Through court work, research, training and strategic advocacy we use our skills to build a fairer justice system and more equitable society. We are committed to ensuring everyone has the right to equal access and status under the law and we work collaboratively with our community partners to identify systemic injustice and with individuals to run test cases. Our long term goal is to bring change to systemic problems of abuse and discrimination.”
